About Wendy J. Cook

After serving for nearly a decade as director of communications for St. Louis-based Buckingham Strategic Partners, Wendy and her family relocated to Eugene, Oregon, where she founded Wendy J. Cook Communications, LLC. She offers writing, editing and related services to a worldwide community of fee-only, evidence-based financial advisors, including those within the Buckingham Strategic Partners, as well as other firms in the U.S., Canada, U.K. and elsewhere around the globe.

Like you, Wendy is a strong advocate for the inherent value that a fiduciary, evidence-based advisory model offers you and your clients (not to mention her own investment portfolio). She also shares your passion for building a good, solid business based on good, solid advice.

Wendy began a career in the early 1980s in tech support, but quickly discovered her interests were in translating technese into understandable English. A corporate communicator was born — taking on subjects including academic administration, consumer goods, health sciences, library automation … and, ultimately, fiduciary wealth management.

In 1998, she joined what is now Buckingham Strategic Partners, before going independent to found Wendy J. Cook Communications in 2009. Ever since, she has dedicated herself to writing clear, compelling content for financial advisor firms who implement their strategies using Dimensional Fund Advisors and similar low-cost, evidence-based fund families.

Wendy’s community interests include:

  • Equal Vote Coalition: STAR Voting initiatives volunteer
  • American Association of University Women (AAUW), Eugene-Lane branch: past officer positions
  • The Nature Conservancy: Legacy Club member
  • Willamette Valley Greyhound Lovers Association
  • Oregonians for Water, Parks & Wildlife: past county coordinator
  • Holly Hills Improvement Association, St. Louis, MO: past president
  • YMCA Literacy: past tutor

Wendy holds a bachelor’s degree cum laude in history, minor in Russian from Washington University in St. Louis. In addition to being an avid writer and reader, she enjoys hiking, cooking, spoiling the canine in residence (currently a whippet named Ever), going on backroad adventures with her husband, and generally marveling at Oregon’s natural wonders.
